Ladies of Grace

Celebrating Women Bible Study is held on the 2nd Monday of the month from 6 p.m. - 8 p. m.  We join together for a potluck dinner at 6 p.m.. After a time of eating & fellowship, we continue with some worship in song, then study the scriptures and encourage one another in our Faith.  We close with prayer and thanksgiving for all the Lord’s blessings and His continued guidance for our lives.

All women are welcome and childcare is provided.  There is no charge for childcare at this time, but donations for this service are appreciated.

Altar Guild

"Do this in remembrance of me"

Come help prepare the Lords table

Altar Guild work is a gift to God. It is your unique ministry to His church; your gift of your time and talent to His altar.

" . . . the duty of the altar guild is to prepare all the things necessary for the celebration of the Eucharist or other sacraments and offices of the church. The preparations are done in a manner so that any service may be conducted in decency, order and beauty for the worship of Almighty God and his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."

From The Complete Training Course for Altar Guilds by B. Don Taylor

Music of Grace

Youth Band meets 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Saturdays and is comprised of Youth from 3rd grade through high school. The band prepares contemporary music and includes both singers and instrumentalists. The Youth Band performs at Youth Sunday on the last Sunday of the month.

Senior Choir is open to adolescents and adults who love to make a joyful noise to the Lord! The choir practices every Wednesday 7:00 – 8:00 PM in the Choir Room (Room 3). There is a general warm-up session for the choir at 9:00am on Sundays in the Choir Room (Room 3). The senior choir provides music leadership in worship each Sunday and for special services during the Christmas season and Holy Week.

Book Club

The Book Club is a loose-knit group with no elected or appointed officers. We seek insight to our religious and spiritual nature through literature and then share our thoughts and discoveries in a respectful, group discussion format.

We select fiction and nonfiction. Some of the more popular or renowned authors we have read include Mitch Albom, Jodi Picoult, C. S. Lewis, Max Lucado, Jonathon Edwards, Thomas Cahill, Jan Caron and the Dalai Lama. Some of the more scholarly or obscure include Elaine Pagels, Joseph Campbell, Karen Armstrong, Thomas Merton and Huston Smith. We occasionally read a humorous or light-hearted book, especially after an intense reading. Christopher Buckley falls into this category.

We usually meet in the home of a bookworm on the second Sunday of the month at 7:00 PM for a couple of hours of exploration. We like to ask questions. The book is often merely the starting point for conversation that turns philosophical, resulting in questions unanswered or unanswerable. From time to time, we may watch a video, read poetry or have a supper night at a restaurant. All people associated with Grace Episcopal Church are invited to participate.

We have reviewed titles such as How the Irish Saved Civilization, Life of Pi, The Glass Castle, The Shack and God Is Not One. We have also enjoyed Christmas suppers at Stonewood Tavern, reading our favorite poetry and prose.

Participation has ranged from four to sixteen people, averaging six to ten on a typical evening.

Join us on our inquisitive journey through interesting literature. For more information, please call LeGrand Jones at 978-9473, or legrand@verizon.net
